Well, it's good to report we are off to a good start. We got up this morning, snoozed the alarm like every good person does, and then moaned with anguish when it went off again. I got up and made our lunches. Marc had a chicken and roast beef sandwich on whole wheat bread and swiss cheese, grapes for a mid-morning snack, and some carrots that didn't get eaten due to the hecticness of the day. I packed myself a roast beef, cheddar and lettuce sandwich on whole wheat with a banana and carrots. All of my food managed to get eaten.
We're also working on upping our water intake. I have a Fiji water bottle, not because I'm necessarily a "Fiji Water Person," but the big bottle holds 50 ounces. So, if I drink one bottle, I've met my water goal for the day. It also helps me avoid the stuff they call water that comes out of the fountain at work.
Dinner tonight was successful. We made a beef tenderloin. It was totally cheater-cheater method. The tenderloin was a pre-marinated cut from Publix, it was delicious non-the-less. I weighed the pieces out, so Marc's was approximately 5.1 ounces (with the bits of fat on it) and mine was about 4.8. We had it with some asparagus and rice. One thing to note - I still cannot make rice. Marc has decent skills but really our roommate is the one who knows how to do it. The new joke is that it shall be rice-bootcamp in the house soon.
We venture out to Wal-Mart this evening after dinner. We have our new scale and jump ropes. All in all it cost about $25 dollars. We've measured the ropes and started to play with them. After 15 or so years, it'll take some practice again, but looks to be fun.
Tomorrow night is coconut chicken curry for dinner. I'll have Marc type out the recipe so it can be posted later on.
